There are bands on both sides of the Andes that know how to kick it big time.
With their latest album “Plan Maestro”, SANTO BARRIO from Santiago de Chile
finally do have the master plan at hand to conquer the old world musically…

Since their first release in 1997 “Tumbao Revelde” SANTO BARRIO are making
themselves heard on either side of the Andes for 12 years now. From
Buenos Aires all the way to Mexico City, from von Santiago de Chile to Berlin
playing with bands like UN KUARTITO (ARG) and SKA’T (D). Their explosive
mix of Ska, Rock and Cumbia, with the almighty horn-section and the incredible
percussions lights ears and hearts on fire anywhere they go! Oh, yes you’ve
read correctly! SANTO BARRIO already made it over to Europe in 2001 with
their independently produced album “Ahora es Cuando”. That was D.I.Y.
all the way and they for example played at the prestigious “Festival de la
Cultura Latinoamericana” in Hamburg. By the way, that very album got them
the equivalent to the Grammy in Chile! KARAMELO SANTO do it in Argentina
and they do it in Chile on a regular basis: support the one and only
MANU CHAO when he is on tour!
Success is hard work and they also have the certain something that opens
the hearts and ears of people all over. It’s not just the music but also their
politically and ecologically motivated lyrics – over here as well as in Chile!
